Location: Akron, OH
The All-American Bridge, locally known as the Y-Bridge, in Akron, Ohio was renovated and completed in 2012. Improvements were vast and included 10,400 lineal feet of pedestrian safe fencing, fabricated and installed by Future Fabricating.
While this city bridge typically services vehicular traffic only, pedestrian safety was a fundamental requirement of the bridge infrastructure improvement project to prevent suicide which had been a reoccurring issue since the bridge’s construction in 1981 and also protect the 15,000+ runners the bridge hosts annually during the Akron Marathon Race Series.
